Online Chemical Environment (OCHEM) is a service of Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen - Deutsches Forschungszentrum fuer Gesundheit und Umwelt (GmbH) (HMGU) provided to the scientific community.
HMGU is committed to respect your online privacy and to recognize your need for appropriate protection and management of any personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") you share with us. Personal Information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, home or other physical address and an email address or other contact information, whether at work or at home.
OCHEM can be also used through the guest account without revealing any Personal Information. Only authorized personnel that are involved in the support of the server have access to the data on the web server. Accessing HMGU's web pages data, which may allow identification (e.g. your IP address, date, time and pages visited) are stored on HMGU servers for statistical purposes. The IP address is not used for the identification of the user, and no user profiles which are related to particular individuals or pseudonymised are prepared. HMGU reserves the right to carry out a statistical evaluation of anonymised data records.
If you choose to provide us with your Personal Information on OCHEM for registration of a personalized account, HMGU may transfer that Information within HMGU and to third-party service providers acting on behalf of HMGU or supporting the OCHEM web site. If you choose to publish data or build models on the OCHEM website you will be cited as originator with your full name as well as your login names. HMGU will not use postal addresses, telephone or fax numbers and email addresses for marketing except for occasional notifications of events directly related to OCHEM activities.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
OCHEM utilizes "cookies" and other tracking technologies. A "cookie" is a small text file that may be used, for example, to collect information about OCHEM activity. Some cookies and other technologies may serve to recall Personal Information previously indicated by a Web user. Most browsers allow you to control cookies, including whether or not to accept and store them and how to remove them.
You may set most browsers to notify you if you receive a cookie, or you may choose to block cookies with your browser, but please note that if you choose to erase or block your cookies some functionality of OCHEM can be disabled.
Right of withdrawal
If you have provided HMGU with any Personal Information, you can have them deleted at any time. You can have your user account deleted by mailing to "info AT ochem.eu". HMGU will decide at its discretion whether DATA and MODELS contributed by you will be further kept on OCHEM under a different account.
